This hike starts off on the roadway through rural communities. It then turns off the roadway onto the trail known by few as "Rasta Patch". Rasta Patch trail is a steep climb through a wooded area. On exiting Rasta Patch you will walk through a very small village onto the roadway. Walk the roadway uphill to another steep uphill trail to Mount Hillaby. On leaving Mount Hillaby you will take a beautiful wooded downhill trail back to the roadway for your return trek to the St Thomas Post Office. If you are lucky, you may see a "zonkey" or two in the paddock while walking a dirt road near the end of your journey.

This hike explores two gullies. It is unlikely that you will see another human being on this trail. Although the going is mostly flat, there are some short steep inclines to navigate. The trail is ungroomed with several obstacles which include foot hazards such as vines and roots which can trip the most experienced hiker. There are some fallen trees to traverse by either going over or under. There is a short steep incline to exit the first gully but a rope is provided to assist. There is a cave within the second gully which you will be required to pass through. There are two choices to exit the cave, a hole to the left or a narrow space to the right. Flashlights are not necessary for the cave as it is not dark nor is it deep. However please do not get caught in the gullies near 6:00PM as the gullies will get dark quickly nearing sundown. You could carry a flashlight in case of emergency.

This is one of our favourites and we always end with a beastly cold beer at the Chalky Mount Bar! Contact Jennifer, the proprietress at 422-9368.

This is a scenic hike along the cliff of the rugged east coast of the island. There are some short steep inclines along the way but you can stop and take in the view while you catch your breath. The trail traverses some of the old train line, Conset Bay fishing village and a walk along the cliff to Culpepper Island which is your turn around point. You will return by the same trail until you get to the fishing village at Conset Bay at which point you will take an uphill trail to scenic views overlooking the bay. Thereafter, there is a bit of a technical section through a wooded area near the end of the hike so don't get caught out there in the dark.

This is an easy hike as the elevation gain is less than some of the other hikes and it is also not very technical. This route takes you along the coast following the old railway heading northbound with scenic views of the Martin's Bay fishing village. From there it leaves the old railway and turns sharply uphill as you make your way to Pot House Spring which is a good place for a community "catch up" as people come from near and far for their ritual bath in the natural spring water. You will then descend to the Three Crosses and make your way down to join the railway route back to the car park at Bath Beach.

A very short distance from the car park you will enter a trail which takes you to the western side of Chalky Mount ridge. You will cross a small river while making your way to Haggatt's Factory Yard. From there you will start to climb the Haggatt's Ladders. At the top you will be rewarded with amazing views . From there you will traverse a trail along the ridge, then you will make a decent on a trail to your left, at the end of that trail after crossing a paved road. You will now start your climb on a trail that will lead you on to Fruitful Hill. After making a left at the top of the hill, continue on the ridge going through a little village on Parks & Saddleback Road. At the end you will make your final ascent through Bissex on your way back to Chalky Mount .
